Dan Futoran, Illustrator (DFI) uses cutting-edge desktop software to combine digital imagery into compelling and valuable visual media. With over 20 years of professional experience in illustration and graphic design, DFI applies his many skills toward the successful execution of every project, large or small. DFI has helped to solve a myriad of visualization challenges, and to contribute significantly in helping small and large businesses effectively demonstrate the design, structure, and operation of their products and services.
DFI's most valuable service is speedy turnaround time. If you want it fast, DFi will typically put your project on a timeline with the return of quality results well before you expect it.
DFI will meet with your representative personally, if possible, to discuss your project. You can then provide resource materials (product samples, digital photos, product support literature, etc.). Other specific instructions can be conveyed by phone, fax, Fedex, or e-mail. DFI will produce a series of detailed sketches until your concept is faithfully rendered. As the project progresses, DFI can post well organized, chronologically-named revisions as jpeg or pdf e-mail attachments. Finished, client-approved files can be either attached to e-mails, posted via FTP for download, or sent on a CD or DVD.
Illustration/Graphic Design: Specializing in medical illustration. Samples of DFI's work can be viewed on the portfolio page. Illustrations can be provided as full-color, continuous tone digital files, prepared for brochures, catalogs, flyers, trade show posters, presentations, web content, video, etc. If you need to get your project printed, DFI can be your one-stop shop from project production to delivery.
(Accurate descriptions of some of the illustrations on this site may not be available. Clients have used the illustrations to provide insight on certain medical technologies at the time of production, and may not necessarily reflect those clients' current technologies. Some of the illustrations are self-promotional.)
Website Design: DFI can produce compelling CSS-rich websites for small businesses, corporations, and non-profit organizations. Flash animations can be included to provide that extra visual appeal.
Flash: Click here to view an example that features Adobe Illustrator-rendered products images into an eLearning tutorial. The fourth video in the video section of this website was also created entirely in Flash. DFI specializes in Flash animations (Flash-only website design is not offered as a service at this time).
Image Processing/Photo Restoration: DFI has extensive experience in processing digital images. Click here to view a still shot (image will appear in space at left) from a video project, or here to see an example of image restoration.
Video: Using Final Cut Express HD, DFI can create animated titles, special effects, sound tracks, and computer graphics composited over live video to create a unique feature presentation. DFI has produced over 30 promotional and instructional videos to prominent clients in the medical industry.
(Descriptions of some of the videos and animations on this site are not available. The purpose of the videos/animations shown on this site is to promote DFI's desktop video and Flash animation expertise. Clients have used the videos/animations to either promote a product line or provide instruction on the use of a product or medical technology, and do not necessarily reflect those clients' current technologies.)
Identity Establishment: DFI can help you design an identity for your business by creating your company logo and producing templates you can use in your promotional media campaign.
Presentations: Using Microsoft PowerPoint, DFI can create and prepare your slide presentations. And the full production process of digital files for the printing of backlit or reflective posters and other trade show graphics is one of DFI's specialties. Here's an example of a trade show poster for a event, held in Istanbul, Turkey, where a prestigious award was presented to a past year's outstanding neurosurgeon. See the portfolio page for more examples.
