Finding a reliable web designer to create your website can be a daunting exercise. I've heard many stories of first-hand experiences of a website design company's inexplicable behavior of inaction or incompetence. If you're considering hiring a website design company, then it's always a good idea to check the vendor's website for standards compliance, or by contacting some of their former clients, who are usually featured in the design firm's portfolio. If you're using the Firefox web browser you can download Firefox's Web Development Tools from the Mozilla.com website, and use it to check the vendor's Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and HTML code. If you find that the designer or design firm's own website has a lot of errors in it, then you can't really expect them to design a browser-compatible website for you.

DFI guarantees* XHTML 1.0 Transitional web standards-compliant design, checked for browser compatibilty within Adobe DreamWeaver, and with Firefox's Web Development tools. DFI checks the validity of its CSS and HTML coding, and if there's a problem, it will be fixed.

*Standards compliance cannot be guaranteed for Flash elements used within a website design, though such elements if properly implemented will usually function as expected when run with later versions of the Flash Player installed with your browser. Due to problems that Flash may present within XHTML 1.0 Transitional web pages, DFI does not design Flash-only websites. In addition, any code provided by the client for inclusion in their website may contain non-standard code which, since it may have been provided by an on-line vendor or other source, will not be checked for validity unless that link fails to work in most browsers.
